Tired Of Diets That Leave You Hungry-solid converter

Health Have you ever felt really hungry on a reduced calorie diet, and has that hunger led you to binge eating and falling off your diet? Did you regain the pounds you lost while you were following the restrictive diet and maybe even some more to boot? You are not alone. Somehow we have been mislead as we have bee told that losing weight is about calories in verses calories out and that is all that matters. So diet after diet has repeatedly told us that we have to cut calories to lose weight. Most of these diets reduce food intake to 1200 odd calories for women and 1600 for men. They usually advise exercise as well which creates a further calorie deficit. The problem with these methods is that when you follow them you actually stop your weight loss progress by slowing your metabolism. This is the exact opposite of what you really need to do to burn off the fat which is to tone up your fat burning machinery – your muscle tissue and increase your metabolic rate (the rate your body burns fuel). Another big problem with restrictive food diets is that the leave you feeling hungry as your hunger hormones are activated in an attempt to drive you to eat so you do not starve yourself. These uncontrollable food cravings often (mostly) lead to binge eating which results in a pattern of yo-yo dieting. You end up with a slower metabolism, drained energy levels, cranky and frustrated. When you experience these negative effects you will likely quit the diet and regain any weight you had lost. Feeling like this makes it easy to reach for unhealthy choices. The way to boost your metabolism is to do the opposite – create only a very small calorie deficit of 100-200 calories to stay under your body’s radar so it does not drop the metabolism. Eat small frequent meals (every 2-3 hours) each with a portion of protein throughout the day. This tells your body you are giving it energy and it does not need to store calories as fat. It will also keep you full and keep hunger at bay so you do not end up shoveling food into your mouth from an out of control binge which will wreck your fat loss plans. Eating those 5 or 6 meals helps maintain a balanced blood sugar level which prevents hunger attacks which even the most dedicated dieter can fall victim to. For your exercise, the best thing you can do for fat loss is a proper strength training program. This is the only type of exercise that will boost your metabolism and this is what is needed for long term weight control. Weak flabby muscles mean a lowered metabolic rate so getting them toned up and healthy means more fuel (calories) will be burned every single minute of the day and night even when you are sleeping. For your strength training program to work you need lots of energy so you can put some effort into it 2-3 times each week. This will allow you to make the changes you need to make to your metabolism, as it is likely you have become overweight due to your muscular system becoming un-toned and burning less of the food you eat. Muscle tissue is where fuel (calories) is burned for energy so they are your very best friends if you wish to lose weight. If you have been held back by your weight in any area of your life, it is time to adopt this much better solution to end that starting right now.
